Description
Serving persons with all forms of Hearing Loss in Trinidad and Tobago. Levels of hearing impairment include "Deaf", "Hard of Hearing", "Hearing Impaired", "Late Deafened" and "Progressive Deaf". Whatever the classification, TTAHI is mandated to serve all, including their families, as well as persons who may become hearing impaired. We provide education at the Cascade School for the Deaf, the Audrey Jeffers School for the Deaf as well as counseling and psychological support and communication courses for family members. On the clinical side, TTAHI manages the Diagnostic Research Education Therapeutic Centre for the Hearing Impaired (DRETCHI), and monitors the incidence of and investigates the causes of hearing impairment in Trinidad and Tobago.
